New York, New York

architect - Larry Sass

Professor Larry Sass of the Massachusetts Institute Technology designed a digital-age New Orleans shotgun style house for the MoMA exhibit ‘Home Delivery: Fabricating the Modern Dwelling’.  The building was digitally fabricated and constructed from plywood sheets cut with a laser router. All joints were friction-fitted and the entire structure was assembled with a rubber mallet. Except for foundation anchor bolts, no metal fasteners were used. Dan Bonardi Consulting Engineers completed the structural analysis  for this unique building.
